Lifestyle | Taking It To The Next Level

Street Style

Okay, let's start with a throwback to my New Year Changes, I said I wanted to take YouTube and blogging to the next level, but recently my laptop stopped working so I gave myself a fell on break from blogging and YouTube for a good two weeks. It actually made me realise, how much time I actually spend making content, answering and sending emails, editing etc. And I was hardly making any actual time for myself or for others.

So instead of taking it to the next level, I took time out to actually schedule when I blog and create content and spending quality time with the people I love, as well as making time for just me to relax.

I do have a lot o different content and ideas lined up for Fashionista Chic this year, more so to show my personality more, the same goes for my YouTube, more adventurous vlogs and different kinds of videos. So definitely subscribe to my channel if you want to stay tuned for all that!

I felt the need to take this time away to create new content I'm proud of and want to write about. This doesn't mean I'm stopping blogging or YouTube, I just want to stop pressurising myself to post a blog post every Monday and Thursday, as well as a video every Sunday night. I just want to prioritise my time more and spend it more efficiently.

Thank you to everyone that takes their time out their day to read and comment as well as support my blog. I love reading your comments and replying back to you, as I love it when you all get involved with my content and report back to me about what you liked within the post or what you liked within my videos.

Lifestyle & Fashion | What Happened In February

60's Mod Style

So I thought about it and I want to make this a monthly thing for definite. So let's see what happened in February...

60's Mod Style
60's Mod Style

First of all, I started the gym and got into a routine of going 2-3 times a week, the odd time I went 4 times in a week - well done me! I joined a good fitness class as well as yoga class - one of the best classes I've done, you have to try it! I also found out I am really underweight and need to eat more, even though I eat so much every day! I even keep a food and exercise diary now so I can keep track each day, and I've figured out I eat more when I'm at work rather than when I'm at home. I also found out I have a metabolism of a 12 year old hahaa! I knew it was fast, but not that fast!

60's Mod Style

I caught up with some work friends and had such a good night with them! That was also the day I had my hair done to a shorter, baby blonde colour and style, and my gosh...I've never spent so much money on my hair! Plus it took 6 hours to do! See more about this in my Weekend Vlog on my Youtube - link at the bottom of this post.

I spent some lovely quality time with my family and boyfriend, especially country walks with my dog Pepsi, who I love so much. Catch a few shots of him in this blog post.

I took a Sunday trip down to London to meet up with some blogger friends who I met back at the TBHXBWB Bloggers Meet Up. We went for brunch in Notting Hill in a vegan restaurant called Farmacy. Myself and everyone else ordered the pancakes, which I had nutella with, they were beautifully presented, but I found vegan food is really not for me, especially coconut yogurt. I also ordered the Berry Punch drink, which I would definitely go back there for again if I was in the area! Just the drinks though, as the food just wasn't my cup of tea, but I loved how the place was set out!

February also (obviously) involved Valentine's Day, so I spent the day with my boyfriend, just us, spending time together and heading out to a cute little Indian restaurant, greeted by a delicious glass of wine and poppadoms with the lovely dips. We had a starter, I had chicken tikka pieces with salad and Reiss had Sheek kebab with salad. It was then followed by our main, I had chicken madras (AMAZING), with pilau rice, and shared a naan bread, while Reiss had chicken tikka pieces with salad and chips. At the end of our meal, they brought out a rose to give to Reiss to give to me! It topped off the entire day as I was so touched by this, as roses are my absolute favourite flowers!

My Valentine's Day gift to him was tickets to go see Jack Whitehall, a comedian we both love! It was honestly the most hilarious night, except the horrendous taxi journey back, as the driver almost crashed the taxi by driving whilst using his phone and just missed a bollard in the road! Horrific experience!

Also my laptop I was having trouble with, so my blogging wasn't as frequent as I had  hoped, so I had it formatted and it's working fine so far! I'm definitely going to save up for an iMac soon. Any recommendations or opinions on them would be great to hear! I also had some exciting collaborations with Swiss Clinic, Zaful and Boohoo in February!

As for this outfit, I've had this on repeat so often! It's been perfect for the cold days - especially in February. I love this 60's mod sort of style! I wear this roll neck so often! As you will see in a lot of my vlogs on my YouTube (link down below). As for this bag, I wear this SO much, it's so like a Gucci dupe bag with the strap. When it arrived I didn't think I'd fit much in it, but once I wore it a few times, the inside got some air in it and I can fit all my essentials in it! My boots are a favourite of mine and I wear them with nearly every outfit, out of all the boots I own, these are the ones I reach for the most recently!

I also took a trip out to Bicester Village with one of my best friends, as we've both wanted to go for ages! So we took a spontaneous trip down there, and the amount of things I wanted to buy but stopped myself as of saving money for the amount of trips and holidays I've got planned this year. I will go back either later in the year and/or next year and get that Micheal Kors Denim Bag! I also hope to get my hands on the Gucci belt at some point!

Travel | My V Fest Experience

V Festival 2016
V Festival 2016

V Fest. My first ever festival, as well as first time camping at a festival. I had an amazing time in the day time, watching a lot of my favourite and amazing acts, making new memories with friends and having a few drinks, as well as going on a fun house, where I tried to hold a hand stand whilst on a rotating wheel and fell three quarters round! It was hilarious even though I hurt my hip!

V Festival 2016
V Festival 2016

The day time was an awesome experience and will be unforgettable. I loved having the chance to get all glittered up with my glitter pots from eBay. But once night time came and the festival was finished for the day, it was time to head back to camp...Where I thought we were actually safe for the weekend. Our tent pegs had been pulled out and strings snapped. The rest of our nights there were fine, but other people's tents were taken by some absolute idiots, as well as people's tents being jumped on, tent roof top covers being taken from the roof of the tent, so their belongings were drenched from the rain. So they had to stay in welfare for their last night. By the last morning we were there, we found out that the area we pitched in was the worst area of the entire festival! I ended up in medical due to eating some dodgy food, as well as contaminated water and unclean facilities (I won't even mention about the showers!) and the reason for my break from blogging because of how ill I had been. The St John Ambulance team put me down to being so sick and in pain from being on my period...ON MY PERIOD?! SERIOUSLY?! So when I got home I was even worse, went to the doctors and they told me I had Gastroenteritis. How the hell can an ambulance team miss that? I was ill for a good 6 weeks!

V Festival 2016
V Festival 2016

Even though all this had happened, I would love to go to more festivals, but would go with glamping, in a caravan or in a hotel, as it's cleaner as well as a nicer experience. As much as I like the line up for V Festival this year, I won't be going due to how bad my immune system became during the time being there, plus I found camping just wasn't for me.

The amount of festival line ups I've looked at from the likes of, reading, Creamfields, Boomtown and many others, I definitely don't fancy going to any festivals this year. I think maybe some new trips to different places will take place instead for my travel life this year.

V Festival 2016

Have you got plans for attending any festivals this year or ever had bad experiences?

Thanks for reading!

Lifestyle | What Happened In January

Even though we are pretty much in March now, I wanted to mention what happened in January. Thinking of making this a sort of series here on the blog as I haven't tried this sort of thing, yet I love reading this type of material.

Anyway, so throughout January I had a house move, but with my Dad, not with my Mum, which was very productive, and I love the new place, but I did my back in building things and unpacking box after box. I can't wait to see how we are going to decorate the place throughout the years!

Next I started weekly/weekend vlogging, next to now having business cards for my blog! Seeing as I am determined to take blogging to the next level as well as YouTube is one of my new year goals, it's certainly looking up, as I also now have a ring light for indoor blog pictures and YouTube videos - definitely handy to have during the darker days and evenings.

My first weekend vlog involved some photo shoots in minus one degree weather, making a cat house out of cardboard boxes that looked more like a barn hahaa! Then a bit of cooking with my boyfriend. You can find the link to my YouTube at the bottom of this page.

January ment not spending as much and find ways to save or even make money, so I was at work at least 4 days every week or more. Me and my boyfriend also tried to find things to do throughout the month that didn't cost money but was creative. As we are trying to save money for our holiday to Austria in April.

It's mainly been a month of planning and scheduling things for London a fair few times, it was supposed to be twice in February, but due to the tube strike, I only made it once to see some blogger friends and for a hair appointment with Syoss which got cancelled and moved the date, which I couldn't attend to in the end due to work.

Anyway, as long of a month it's been, it's been very productive! Oh, I forgot to mention I did a day of looking through charity shops with my best friend, but we ended up only finding about one or two things each and ended up in Primark and if you saw my Unicorn Primark Haul here you'll see the damage hahaa!

Hope you liked this January round up and let me know if this is something you'd read again in the comments below! Thanks for reading guys and girls!

Fashion | Favourite Outfit On Repeat

Street Style

I'm wayyy too obsessed with anything black in my wardrobe and this beaut of a bargain aviator jacket from Forever 21 that I mentioned in my latest Primark Haul here. The amount I have had this outfit on repeat recently though...It just has that effortless stylish Instagram girl look. This look did so well on social media and was one of my most liked looks throughout February.

I wore this look for a day with one of my best friend doing a spot of shopping before heading for some food at McDonald's, but I don't eat the meat there so I just had some fries and a drink. I don't like how much grease is put into their food and since just before the new year I stopped eating from fast food restaurants as I want to either eat more home cooked food or actually go out for a nice meal in a nice restaurant or cafe. Not being a food snob here, it's just how fast food affects my body and skin.

I've definitely got an obsession for this long sleeved mesh top with Primark's latest collection of bralettes! They are just so comfortable and look at the detail under the mesh of the flowers. Considering how spring is pretty much here most days now, these are perfect to wear under mesh tops and a nice jacket or coat thrown over the top for a flawless and effortless street style look or even for a night out! I certainly have been wearing this top SO often lately, especially with my mustard leather jacket and these lace up the side trousers from ChicMe which are also something I actually repeatedly have been wearing recently! They just pull an outfit together if you tuck a top into it and you've got a london fashion week worthy outfit! Adding in one of my favourite handbags from Next which is very well loved - due to it going with literally every outfit I put together, plus it's the closest to myegetting a Chanel bag dupe...

As for the boots, ever since I saw InTheFrow wearing a pair of Dolce & Gabana boots that are VERY similar to these boots I'm wearing in these pictures, when I first spotted them on Zaful, I sent them straight to my basket! When they arrived, I was SO impressed with the quality of the entire boots! The inner material is so soft with a soft grey faux fur sort of feel to it, as well as the faux suede material all over the boots all the way down to the jewels on the heel, they are just stunning! I do advise to be careful wear you wear these boots to, as the jewels fell out of the metal clasps holding them if someone accidentally stepped on the back of my heel, also if I knocked the boots pretty hard on the pavement, a jewel may come loose. Other than that slight mishap, these are one of the most beautiful pair of boots I own. Not forgetting my awesome sunnies that are so like the Quay Australia ones last summer season was all about. I've worn them loads so far, and intend to wear them a lot more throughout the year!

Street Style

As for the jacket, it was my best purchase so far this year! As I wear it so often and it was a bargain at £17.99 down from £39.99 in Forever 21!

Beauty | Swiss Clinic Skin Renewal Set Review

Swiss Clinic

I've really got into reading about and trying new serums, but never have I ever heard of, or tried such a serum like this. you start off with sanitising spray on the micro needles of the skin roller, then roll it on your face. Needles?! Pushed into your face?! Don't worry, they actually don't hurt! The skin thinks it's being damaged when it's actually not, it's actually helping the process of collagen within your skin when used with the serum. I honestly was quite scared when I opened the roller from it's box though...

Swiss Clinic

I first pushed the roller along my arm to see how it'd feel, and it was fine. So I've started to add it into my night routine with the Rejuvenating Serum. I tend to use serums in my night routine as I like to give my skin more moisture and pampering at night as of how much it goes through throughout the day. The first time I applied the serum to my face, I had a fair few white pieces of some form of liquid come out of my face, gross right? But it was strangely satisfying to watch. After the first use it didn't happen again though. I use the roller and serum every night after cleansing my face with my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, followed by my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Cream.

Swiss Clinic

The Rejuvenating Serum is full of Vitamin E which is believed to be 'renowned for it's anti-oxidative and moisturising properties and for it's positive effect on skin tone and glow.' It's also stated to have Betaglucan in the serum which is a powerful biological agent which means, the skin can enhance it's UVA induced oxidative stress, which protects the skin from environmental hazards, improves the firmness of the skin and elasticity. See, I googled this and was quite impressed with how much betaglucan is used in different things. It's used for high cholesterol, diabetes, cancer and HIV/AIDS. Not only that, it's used for colds, allergies, asthma, ear infections etc. But most importantly to do with this serum, betaglucan is used by people to apply betaglucan to the skin for dermatitis, eczema, wrinkles, bedsores, wounds, burns, diabetic ulcers and radiation burns. Sounds like the new aloe vera to me! I really found this fascinating - find the site I read about it here.

Swiss Clinic

The booklet that it comes with is very informative of what's in the product, how it works and how it's good for your skin. It also mentions about by activating the macrophages, part of the immune system within the skin, betaglucan also stimulates the regeneration of new skin.

Swiss Clinic

I tend to use on whole pump of the serum, as the consistency is quite thick and half a pump doesn't cover all the skin on my face, so in my opinion one full pump is enough, as it's best to use the serum down your neck too. I've never really had many skin problems if I'm honest. I've had bad break outs before and the odd spot here and there, but that's down to what I've eaten and what I've been doing, but since I've been using this set, I've seen a difference in my skin and I haven't broken out just yet, so it's definitely going to be staying in my skincare routine!

Swiss Clinic

Overall, I'm quite impressed by this Rejuvenating Serum from Swiss Clinic! I'm always willing to try something new, whether that be skincare, beauty, fashion, lifestyle or travelling to new places. I do think that £84 for this set is a bit pricey for everyone, but those who love to invest more into their skincare, this is a great set to have in your routine, especially if you suffer from any skin problems. Considering how well it's keeping my skin glow, it's definitely a luxury product to have!

Find more information about Swiss Clinic and their products here. They don't only sell skincare, they also range from hair, eyes, teeth and diet. I certainly would love to try out the teeth whitening kit!
